- Spread the pesto on the inside of one slice of bread.
- On the other slice, layer on the ham, cheese, and tomatoes.
- Butter the outsides of both slices of ham. This will make the bread brown nicely in the panini press.
Ok, obviously, this is not the kind of meal that needs a specific recipe—it’s an opportunity to release your inner chef and create your own signature sandwich! I’m kind of a Plain Jane when it comes to sandwiches, so mine doesn’t have much on it. But you can put whatever you like on yours: different meats, more meat, multiple kinds of cheese, veggies, whatever! I do suggest buttering the outside of your sandwich no matter what, as it’ll make the bread toast better than it will without.
